Two-factor authentication

Turn it on in each platform’s security settings. An authenticator app is stronger than text messages.

Secure the email

The email on an account is the way back in. Protect it with a unique password and its own two-factor authentication.

Register the name elsewhere

An empty profile with your name stops somebody else taking it. See using the same username everywhere.

Watch for impersonators

Search for near-misses of your name and report impersonation through the platform’s form.

Never share access

Nobody doing a legitimate job on a username needs your password or a login code.

Official sources

Platforms change their help pages and forms often. Follow the wording on your own screen and the current Help Center. Usernm is an independent service and is not affiliated with Meta or any platform named on this site.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Should I use my main email?

Use an email only you control, with its own two-factor authentication.

Can others take my name later?

Not while the account holds it. Deleting the account releases it.

Want it handled for you?

Send the username on WhatsApp or email. You hear whether it looks workable, and the price is agreed before we start.
