Which usernames
can be claimed?

A username that looks abandoned is not automatically available. What matters is whether a route fits.

Last updated

A username can be claimed when an official route fits the situation, and not just because the account is quiet.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Is an inactive username free?

Not by default. The account still holds it until the owner changes it or the platform removes the account.

Do platforms release usernames after a time?

Instagram and Snapchat publish no such rule. TikTok publishes an Inactive Account Policy under which a username may be reset after 180 days of inactivity, and TikTok alone decides when it applies.
