Why the two do not match
- Search hides some accounts, so a missing result is not proof.
- Deactivated and banned accounts keep their usernames.
- A deleted account can take time to finish, and the name stays held until then.
- Some names are held by TikTok for its own reasons and are not published.
What to try
- Check the profile link tiktok.com/@name from a logged-out browser.
- Try the name again in Edit profile every few weeks.
- Check whether you hold the name on an old TikTok account of your own.
- If someone is posing as you or using your registered mark, a report route may fit. See TikTok impersonation reports.
Pick a fallback now
Do not hold back your launch for a name you may not get. Choose a close variation that you can also use on Instagram and Snapchat.
