Eight steps settle a brand username
- Write the exact name and check its length against all three platforms.
- Check it fits Snapchat: 3 to 15 characters, Latin letters, numbers and one separator.
- Check it fits TikTok: letters, numbers, underscores and periods, with no period at the end.
- Check it fits Instagram: up to 30 characters, letters, numbers, periods and underscores.
- Confirm who is authorised to act for the brand.
- Gather the registration details of any mark.
- List two fallbacks per platform.
- Never share a password or code with anyone.
The shortest limit sets the name
A name of 3 to 15 letters and numbers that starts with a letter fits Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat alike. Separators such as hyphens or trailing periods may not carry across platforms.
Filing needs the right person
Reports for a business should come from someone authorised to act for it. TikTok says a trademark report must come from the owner or an authorised representative. Usernm does not ask for logins.
Trademark proof matters only on the route that uses it

A fallback avoids a second round
Consistent variants such as a short suffix on every platform keep the brand findable.
