Your username is taken by a person who shares your name

Short answer: Sharing a name is not a route on any of the three platforms. The holder keeps it unless the profile pretends to be you.

Why it happens

Many people share a name. The first to register holds the username.

What to do

Add a field word or a short extra.
Use the same version on all three platforms.
Use an impersonation report only if the profile pretends to be you.

Platforms change their help pages and forms often. Follow the wording on your own screen and the current Help Center. Usernm is an independent service and is not affiliated with Meta or any platform named on this site.
