A claim is a request, not a purchase
A username claim asks a platform to act under its own published process. No money goes to the holder, and nothing transfers until the platform decides.
Each platform has its own process
Instagram uses reports for impersonation, intellectual property and Community Standards. TikTok and Snapchat use their own reports and help pages. See the platform comparison.
A claim needs facts that match a route
- Someone impersonates you or your business.
- A registered mark matches the username.
- The account breaks a platform rule.
- The name was yours before and you lost it.
A claim is not account recovery or a trade
Recovery returns an account you own. A trade swaps accounts, which platforms do not allow. A claim is neither.
What Usernm does
Usernm checks which route applies, submits the claim on Instagram, TikTok or Snapchat, and refunds 100% if a username claim fails. Prices are agreed first on the pricing page.
